The best there is September 22, 2012 By Jaime Botana See All My Reviews "Now that Teresa Berganza's recording is unavailable, this recording leads the list. Abbado's talent, combined with Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's magnificent production would alone make it hard to match, but the addition of Frederica von Stade, Francisco Araiza in top state and Claudio Desderi's knack for scene-stealing plus La Scala's armies in wonderful perfection make this an absolute must."
