A Great Collection of Sousa Works (orchestrated) September 25, 2012 By Henry S. (Springfield, VA) See All My Reviews "This is a thoroughly enjoyable eclectic program of Sousa compositions, most of which were originally written for military band, but here in orchestrated transcriptions. The works include marches, overtures, and a suite entitled 'Dwellers of the Earth'. Fittingly perhaps, this 'Sousa Concert' concludes with a fine rendition of Sousa's most famous and patriotic march- The Stars and Stripes Forever. The technical quality of the recording is just fine, and the Razumovsky Symphony Orchestra provides spirited and impressive playing. Like the others in the Sousa series of disks issued by Naxos, just about everyone should find this program highly enjoyable, and those who particularly like light classical music will fall in love with it."
