Notes and Editorial Reviews

Obviously, this is a case where reviews are virtually irrelevant: Fans of the deservedly popular singers, of whom there are legions, have probably bought the CD already... [Domingo] certainly is a good choice for the Otello duet, and Fleming's Desdemona certainly makes one curious about when and whether she'll record the complete role... Domingo sings the Faust duet sensitively, if not without obvious effort; Fleming is sensitive with no apparent effort at all. Ditto for her Hanna in the Merry Widow duet. As for Domingo, his empathy with Viennese operetta seems so complete that he can be compared with singers like Tauber, Schock, and Wunderlich. With his current forays into Wagner, he's probably the world's leading "German" tenor, Read more at least until Ben Heppner does more roles...
