Notes and Editorial Reviews

In this collection of recordings, ‘early’ means what it says. This is a journey through the music world of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It ends with those composers and those pieces of music that, around 1600, were shaping the sound that we call ‘baroque’. Presented chronologically, this extensive collection of works covers sacred and secular music from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, England, Flanders, Portugal and The Netherlands, from a wide range of composers.  Excellent Selections & Performanes March 27, 2014 By M G Scheuermann (New Orleans, LA) See All My Reviews "This is an excellent survey of early music from medieval to Renaissance. The selections are very well played and the accompanying printed notes in the booklet are outstanding. We will use the whole set for a 10 week ongoing series of Early Music presentations on our weekly program, Continuum, heard weekly over radio station WWNO-89.9 FM in New Orleans for the past 38 years. And, Arkiv had this at a remarkable price.Thank you, Arkic! Milton Scheuermann & Thais St. Julien Hosts of Continuum WWNO-89.9FM New Orleans LA" Report Abuse
