Notes and Editorial Reviews

First time on CD! Nelson Eddy stars in the complete soundtrack of the 1955 television production of Romberg’s The Desert Song. This television production from the acclaimed series “Max Liebman Presents” was built around the talents of Nelson Eddy and his post-MacDonald singing partner, the charming and silver-voiced soprano Gale Sherwood. Telecast live on May 7, 1955, it bears the distinction of being the only document of Eddy in a live performance of a complete musical. CD bonus: Gale Sherwood recalls her long association with Nelson Eddy in an interview recorded exclusively for VAI Audio! First time on CD!  A Delightful and Curoius Document March 17, 2014 By Joseph  Erdeljac (West Chester, PA) See All My Reviews "Here we have two of the top performers of the age of the movie operetta/musicla both in top form presenting one of the "gems" of the era. The added tracks of talking and comment make it possible to experience the humanity of these delightful personalities as well as enjoying their wonderful rendition of this landmark operetta."
