for the gypsy in all of us... November 19, 2015 By Zita Carno (Tampa, FL) See All My Reviews "I can't remember whether I ordered this one or not, so I'm doing it here and now---the SACD---and Anne-Sophie strikes again! This is one of the best versions of the Ravel Tzigane I've heard in a long time, and she goes to town on it---she crackles and sizzles and cooks up a storm, and I can't help thinking that she has more than a little gypsy in her. It also comes through in the Carmen Fantasy, and the other works give us a beautiful contrast, supported ably by Jimmy Levine's conducting. Yes indeed, this is something for the gypsy in all of us."
