Amazing virtuosity September 30, 2017 By Peter G. (Lees Summit, MO) See All My Reviews "I bought this album because I had just attended a live recital of this young artist's playing and the album did not disappoint. This disc contains selections from the artist's successful performances at the Van Cliburn competition. They are all wonderful. The Bach, especially, showcases this young lady's amazing talent. I also very much enjoyed her interpretations of the two Liszt pieces. Ms. Yang also played an interesting piece by Vines, a contemporary Australian composer. When I saw her in person she told a great story about playing this piece in a concert in Australia as part of her Van Cliburn prize tour, at which the composer was present. He had interesting comments for her and was moved enough by her performance that he went on to create a new work designed to take advantage of her unique talents, which she played at her live performance. I also purchased one other recording of Ms. Yang's work that I have not yet heard but am very much looking forward to. I am old enough to remember when Van Cliburn was the first American to win the Tchaikovsky competition more than 50 years ago. Ms. Wang's skills reminded me of some of my memories of the "original.""  Fabulous! October 8, 2015 By C. STRANGIO (Stow, MA) See All My Reviews "This is the most sensitive, articulate interpretation of Bach's French Overture that I've ever heard, surpassing the performances of this by Glenn Gould, Murray Perhia, and Andras Schiff. And the Carl Vine Sonata is unbelievable!" Report Abuse
