choral music at its best March 25, 2014 By John T. (Dallas, TX) See All My Reviews "Chanticleer is the best choral group around. A marvelous range of styles from a 400+ year time. They have sung locally in the Dallas area in a myriad of settings. They are a well trained group whose voices blend well. My untrained ear does not pick up cd noise. Chanticleer does not create the volume of one of the large choir/choruses, but that is a different venue." Report Abuse
Chanticleer disks delightful March 25, 2014 By G K Barranger (Covington, LA) See All My Reviews "This gatherum type set of retrospective songs is quite wonderful. Some of the songs will be more popular with listeners, but that is to be expected with a group having such a stunningly wide ranging repertoire. For every piece less popular there will be several on the other side of the spectrum like CALLING MY CHILDREN HOME which will more than make up the difference. The blend of voices is truly without compare. Buy it and congratulate yourself. Listening to the entire set tided me through an unwelcome bout of fiastolic congestive heart failure. G.K.
