"It has been a busy recording year for celebrated American soprano Renee Fleming. In May, there was the "Haunted Heart" album with pianist Fred Hersch and guitarist Bill Frisell; Sept. 13 saw the long-awaited release of Strauss' opera "Daphne," conducted by Semyon Bychkov with Fleming in the title role. Now comes an album of easy-to-love sacred repertoire that includes such favorites as Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," Schubert's "Ave Maria," Franck's "Panis Angelicus" and selections from Handel's "Messiah."
