Notes and Editorial Reviews

In 1998 the American Bach Soloists inaugurated their International Young Artists Bach Competition as a way to foster emerging msicians who wish to pursue a career in early music. Michael Sponseller received First Place in that year's competition for harpsichordists. In this significant release, he performs four of Bach's best-known, best-selling harpsichord concertos in D minor, F major, and A minor (triple concerto with violinst Elizabeth Blumenstock and flautist Sandra Miller), and his Concerto in D Major after a violin concerto by Antonio Vivaldi. This recording is a perfect selection for in-store play and listening post promotions. It features the very recognizabel Concerto in D Minor, and belongs in every classical and classical Read more crossover sales venue. Read less
