Notes and Editorial Reviews

Anne-Sophie Mutter was only a teenager when she made these recordings. The Mendelssohn shimmers with clarity, its undulating melodic charm captured with grace and refinement. The Brahms has much the same sweetness of tone, pleasant to listen to, but slightly less appropriate given the dramatic structure of this much more demanding piece.

Quality Disappointing July 5, 2012 By T. Slattery (Wheat Ridge, CO) See All My Reviews "The quality of the recordings on this CD is disappointing. It is much inferior to the Mutter performance of the Mendelssohn that was broadcast on NPR. I thought I was ordering the same recording." Report Abuse
