Notes and Editorial Reviews

The Mantangi Quartet gathers three string quartets by Haydn, musically interprets them with aspects of nature, and gives the pieces their own subtitles: “Sunrise,” “The Frog,” and “The Bird.” Founded in 1999 by four young musicians studying at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and the Conservatory of Rotterdam, the quartet has since developed into a regular performer in the Dutch chamber music scene and abroad. With their impassioned playing and smart presentation, these young players epitomize a new generation of classical musicians.
