Beautiful set July 18, 2014 By M. Benson (Ann Arbor, MI) See All My Reviews "I had considered buying this set a few years ago in its previous form, with each disc in a full jewel case, because I love the music so much, but it was very expensive (I think about $800). I recently started reading Gardiner's biography of Bach, which is terrific, and the descriptions of the music led me to look again, wistfully, at the boxed set--only to discover that it had been released at a much lower price with each CD in just a sleeve--though the original beautiful photography graces each sleeve. The sound quality is outstanding (I have excellent audio equipment and sound is a priority) and the performances are divine. If you think you might like it, you will LOVE it. Highly recommended."  THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! November 3, 2013 By Eric H. (Richmond, TX) See All My Reviews "Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Choir sounds magnificent. His interpretation of the Bach Cantatas is simply incredible. I've purchased each of the volumes individually and have collected the complete set (28 volumes). This compilation is quite a bargain and will make a great gift. They are beautifully recorded. The soloists, choir and English Baroque Soloists are all phenomenal. I hope their is a DVD-series release of the pilgrimage in the works. That would be spectacular!" Report Abuse
