Berlin Philharmonic Centenary Edition November 19, 2013 By Jonathan P. (Owings Mills, MD) See All My Reviews "Having grown up with the Berlin Philharmonic and Herbert Von Karajan on records, I was thrilled to see the production of this edition and more thrilled to discover that ArkivMusic offered the set at a cost lower than ordering directly from the orchestra. While only on disc 29 of 50 (going through them in sequence), the recordings have been wonderfully mastered and what a treat to hear such treasures as Richard Strauss, Paul Hindemith, and Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting their own compositions. The ordering experience from ArkivMusic was fast and easy and the recordings arrived much sooner than I anticipated. This would be a great gift for any lover of serious music." Report Abuse
