Notes and Editorial Reviews

In 1916, lauded Spanish composer Manuel de Falla composed EL CORREGIDOR Y LA MOLINERA (which translates as "The Magistrate and the Miller's Wife"). Commissioned for the Russian Ballet, the piece was extensively rewritten by Falla, eventually seeing the light of day as EL SOMBRERO DE TRES PICOS ("The Three-Cornered Hat"). Here, Maximiano Valdés and the Asturias Symphony Orchestra rework EL SOMBRERO DE TRES PICOS, EL AMOR BRUJO ("Love, The Magician"), and DANZA FROM LA VIDA BREVE in this superlative tribute to Falla's works.
