Boieldieu Worth Waiting ForSeptember 24, 2013By Raymond B. (Arlington, VA)See All My Reviews"For fans of the classic recording of the Boieldieu harp concerto by Nicanor Zabaleta, this recording will be a revelation. I loved the Zabaleta recording, and always thought of it as a sort of "man's recording," zippy, warm, exuberant, and full of good tunes. Nordmann's is so much more, adding layers of delicacy and sophistication that truly suggest the ancien regime, almost like a Mozart adagio, but still with driving rhythms for a roaring good time. One of my desert island recordings."Report Abuse
