Spain with a Chinese slant: a guitar recital that satisfies on all counts
With her profile rapidly rising, Xuefei Yang shows with this hugely enjoyable recital that, surely, she is here to stay. Like her compatriot Lang Lang, she often mixes Western and Chinese repertoire. Here, to my mind, the Chinese numbers are less beguiling than expected. Yet the colour and fluency of her playing is a delight throughout. The guitar world has a new star.
