How to Get Your Digital Downloads
To download your digital music from ArkivMusic quickly and efficiently, we recommend that you install the
ArkivMusic Download Manager application on your computer. Below are instructions for installing and using the ArkivMusic Download Manager, as well as additional information about the Digital Download process.

Installing the Download Manager
The ArkivMusic Download Manager is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Please refer to the appropriate section below for installation instructions for your computer. Since different web browsers have different behaviors, we suggest reviewing the steps for your browser
before clicking the link to get the Download Manager.

On Windows, using Internet Explorer 8
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. When asked to Run or Save the file, click
Run.
2. A window will appear showing the progress of the file download. When it is complete, another window will appear with a message "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" Click
Run.
3. A new window will open saying "Choose Components." Click the
Next button.
4. A new window will open saying "Choose Install Location." Click the
Install button.
5. A new window will open saying "Completing the ArkivMusic Download Manager Setup Wizard." Click the
Finish button.

On Windows, using Internet Explorer 9
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. When asked to Run or Save the file, click
Run.
2. A message will appear saying "ArkivMusic-installer.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer." Click the
Actions button.
3. A window will pop up saying "This program might harm your computer." Click the button toward the bottom that says
More options.
4. A new option will appear that says "Run anyway." Click
Run anyway.
5. A new window will open saying "Choose Components." Click the
Next button.
6. A new window will open saying "Choose Install Location." Click the
Install button.
7. A new window will open saying "Completing the ArkivMusic Download Manager Setup Wizard." Click the
Finish button.

On Windows, using Firefox
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. When asked if you'd like to save this file, click
Save File.
2. A window will appear saying "Enter name of file to save to..." Click the
Save button.
3. A "Downloads" window will appear with "ArkivMusic-installer.exe" highlighted in blue. Double-click on
ArkivMusic-installer.exe.
4. A new window will open saying "Choose Components." Click the
Next button.
5. A new window will open saying "Choose Install Location." Click the
Install button.
6. A new window will open saying "Completing the ArkivMusic Download Manager Setup Wizard." Click the
Finish button.

On a Mac, using Safari
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. You will see a Downloads window appear and, once the software is on your computer, you will see an "ArkivMusic" window like this:
Note: You may have to click on the "ArkivMusic" window to bring it to the front. If you don't see the "ArkivMusic" window, click on the Finder icon in your Dock. (The Finder icon is the first icon in the Dock and looks like a square blue face.) If you still do not see the "ArkivMusic" window, look in your Downloads folder for the file "ArkivMusic.dmg" and open that file.
2. Click on and drag the "ArkivMusic" icon (a maroon ball with a white arrow on it) on the left to the Applications folder icon on the right. Let go when you see the plus sign in green. The ArkivMusic Download Manager is now installed on your Mac.

On a Mac, Using Firefox
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. You will see a Downloads window appear with "ArkivMusic.dmg" highlighted in blue and a light blue progress bar. When the light blue progress bar disappears, double-click on
ArkivMusic.dmg.
2. Click on the Finder icon in your Dock. (The Finder icon is the first icon in the Dock and looks like a square blue face.) A Finder window will appear.
3. Look toward the top of the sidebar on the left side of the Finder window for "ArkivMusic" and click on it. You will see an "ArkivMusic" window like this:
4. Click on and drag the "ArkivMusic" icon (a maroon ball with a white arrow on it) on the left to the Applications folder icon on the right. Let go when you see the plus sign in green. The ArkivMusic Download Manager is now installed on your Mac.

On Linux, using Firefox
1. Click on the link below to get the Download Manager software on your computer's hard drive. If a window appears asking you to Open or Save File, choose
Save File and click
OK.
2. A "Downloads" window will appear with "arkivmusic.tar.gz" highlighted in brown. Double-click on
arkivmusic.tar.gz.
3. Locate the file in your default downloads location and proceed with installation as per your Linux distribution and configuration.

Downloading your digital music
Please refer to the appropriate section below for instructions for your computer and web browser.
On Windows, using Internet Explorer 8 or 9
From your ArkivMusic "My Downloads" page, click on the green
Download Album button to the right of the album you wish to download. A window (in Internet Explorer 8) or popup bar (in Internet Explorer 9) will appear with options to Open and Save. Select
Open. The ArkivMusic Download Manager will launch and download all the files from the selected album. iTunes will then launch and your album files will be transferred to iTunes. To find your music in iTunes, look on the left side of the iTunes window under "PLAYLISTS" and click on the playlist named "ArkivMusic." Any music you've purchased from ArkivMusic and downloaded using the ArkivMusic Download Manager will appear here. Note: ArkivMusic MP3 files downloaded using the ArkivMusic Download Manager are also stored in a folder named "arkivmusic" inside your "Music" folder.

ArkivMusic Download Manager. Check the checkbox next to "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." Click
OK. From that point on, every time you click on the green
Download Album button, your MP3 files will be downloaded and transferred to iTunes. Note: ArkivMusic MP3 files downloaded using the ArkivMusic Download Manager are also stored in a folder named "arkivmusic" inside your "Music" folder.

On a Mac, using Safari
From your ArkivMusic "My Downloads" page, click on the green
Download Album button to the right of the album you wish to download. You will see a "Downloads" window like this:
Note: If you do not see the "Downloads" window, click on the "Window" menu at the top of the screen, then click on "Downloads."
The last entry in the window will be named something like "downloadReceipt.akv." Double-click on this entry. A message will appear saying "'ArkivMusic' is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" Click
Open. The ArkivMusic Download Manager will launch and download all the files from the selected album. iTunes will then launch and your album files will be transferred to iTunes. To find your music in iTunes, look on the left side of the iTunes window under "PLAYLISTS" and click on the playlist named "ArkivMusic." Any music you've purchased from ArkivMusic and downloaded using the ArkivMusic Download Manager will appear here. Note: ArkivMusic MP3 files downloaded using the ArkivMusic Download Manager are also stored in a folder named "arkivmusic" inside your "Music" folder.

Changing your Manager settings
The ArkivMusic Download Manager application needs to be running in order for you to change its settings. Once the program is running, click on the
File menu and then click
Preferences. Here you will find options to save your MP3 downloads to another location, synchronize with a media player other than iTunes, and more.

Downloading without the Download Manager
If you do not wish to use the ArkivMusic Download Manager to download your MP3s purchased from ArkivMusic, you may download individual tracks directly to your computer's hard drive. Go to the "My Digital Downloads" page and click on the
Download Tracks button next to the album you wish to download. Follow the instructions on the page that appears to download your tracks. Note: At this time, there is no way to download all of the tracks on an album at once without using the ArkivMusic Download Manager.
