The Regimental Band of the Coldstream Guards offers a varied program with MARCHES FOR THE CONNOISSEUR, featuring marches by British, American, and German composers. This album offers well known classics such as 'Imperial Echoes,' 'Under the Double Eagle,' and 'The Iron Duke,' among others, and John Philip Sousa--the "March King"--is represented admirably with a fine performance of his 'Fairest of the Fair.' The band immediately demonstrates its prowess with a stirring rendition of the opening selection, C. S. Grafulla's 'Washington Grays,' a technically demanding piece which they dispatch with precision and flair.
