Notes and Editorial Reviews
The Warme-Quartet was formed at the beginning of 1994 with the aim of documenting contemporary Nordic female composers on CD. The Quartet's unusual instrumental ensemble has inspired many composers to explore the group's wide ranging expressive potential. Four of the composers on this CD are women (Rise, Mence, Alsted and Jeppsson) and the other two are men. The founder of the group is the Swedish accordion player Marie Warme Otterstrom. Here is a CD that certainly does present a very interesting aural palette for the adventurous listener.
