Tatsuya Nagashima burst into the international spotlight in 1993 as the first prize winner of Italy's Ibla International Piano Competition. He was born into a musical family in Taiwan. His father was a pianist and his mother was an opera singer. He moved to Tokyo and began his concert career at the age of nine. The Russian Federal Orchestra was organized in the spring of 1993 to introduce established musicians from the prestigious orchestras in Moscow under a new name. It is composed of the concertmasters and principal players from the USSR State Symphony Orchestra, The Bolshoi Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra. Maestro Jordania began his association with the orchestra in the summer of 1993.
