As seen on CBS SUNDAY MORNING, Florilegium explores the music of Catholic missions in Bolivia from the 18th century.
"For their second volume exploring the music of Catholic missions in Bolivia, Florilegium are joined by a quartet of expert singers and the specially assembled Arakaendar Bolivia Choir...the centrepiece is a performance of a mass by the Ferrara composer Giovanni Battista Bassani (1657-1716), a printed copy of which was taken to the missionary post at Moxos in about 1730. Each movement of the mass is excellently performed, with the choral contributions notable for their joyful honesty and concentration.
