Notes and Editorial Reviews
The Stravinsky Ensemble was founded in Amsterdam in 1996. The Ensemble is made up of musicians from several Dutch orchestras who have dedicated themselves to play the music of the 20th century. The Ensemble has set itself the task of performing the works of Igor Stravinsky in order to better define his position among other composers of his era, as well as to show his overall influence on contemporary music. Here we have a well recorded and performed disc of some of Stravinsky's more popular compositions combined with some of his more obscure works.
