Vivian Fung


Born: February 6, 1975; Edmonton, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada  
Ms. Fung began playing the piano at four, composing at eight, and debuted at 15 in a recital that included her own works. In Canada she studied composition with Violet Archer. At Juilliard, in addition to tuition with Diamond and Beaser, she has studied piano with György Sándor and conducting with Miguel Harth-Bedoya. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the American Music Center in New York.

Read more her recent works is Lustra Variations (1996), broadcast throughout Canada on CBC Radio. In July 1998, her Scherzo for piano trio had its premiere in Los Angeles at the California Music Teachers' convention. Read less
