Notes and Editorial Reviews
For almost 20 years, the Strathcona String Quartet has had an active life in the Alberta concert scene, and has often championed new music. And for as long as they've been doing that, composer and musician George Andrix has been in the viola chair. Like Andrix, the music he has written has humour, sincerity and demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the earth and the environment. Having studied with some of the 20th century's most important composers, Andrix' music is imbued with tradition, along with contemporary sensibility.
