Lovely Hovehaness compositions, soprano not so mu August 23, 2015 By S. Morris (Hayward, CA) See All My Reviews "As I listened to the works on this recording, I kept wishing for a soprano whose singing I could enjoy. To my ear Hovhaness wife is not that soprano. The recording was apparently done under his close supervision, and per the notes, has the sound he was looking for. It was not a sound I wish to hear again. I hope someone will record the works again soon, with a soprano I can enjoy listening to. The works themselves have the Hovhaness lovely melodies and harmonies." Report Abuse
