Notes and Editorial Reviews

Here is a collection of works from the music library of the Saxon Elector Friedrich August III (1750–1827). This valuable collection includes rarely works for two keyboard instruments composed by Peter August, Joseph Schuster, Carl Heinrich Graun, and Johann Gottlieb Janitsch, as well as Joseph Haydn’s better-known F major concerto. On the recording, the combination of Hildegard Saretz’s cembalo and Michaela Hasselt’s Hammerflügel keyboard allows for a nuanced differentiation of sound that would not have been possible if the repertoire was performed on two cembalos. - Klanglogo Here is a collection of works from the music library of the Saxon Elector Friedrich August III (1750–1827).
