These seven meditations inspired by Giotto's Nativity Frescoes present constant challenges to the soloist. Barone excels at the percussive exuberance of the "Nativity Dance" as well as the tenderness of "Berceuse for the Infant Jesus." 'Three Early Songs' and 'Dream Sequence' round out this recording of music by the always fascinating Crumb. Read less
