The Galliard Ensemble consists of Kathryn Thomas, flute, Owen Dennis, oboe, Katherine Spencer, clarinet, Helen Simons, bassoon and Richard Bayliss, horn. It was founded in 1993 when its members were students at the Royal Academy of Music. It has won many major awards, given numerous BBC and international broadcasts, performed at many of Europe's leading chamber music venues, including Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall and The South Bank Centre. They are popular performers at International Festivals, including the BBC Promenade Concerts, Bath International Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and were a featured ensemble at the European City of Culture Festival in Porto.
