Norman Cazden


Born: September 23, 1914; New York, NY   Died: August 18, 1980; Bangor, ME  
Cazden studied at the Juilliard School and Harvard, where he took composition lessons from Copland and Piston. He worked for several years as a composer/pianist for modern dance groups and has often appeared as a solo pianist and accompanist. He has taught privately in theory and piano and has served as professor at several universities, including the University of Maine at Orono.
