Notes and Editorial Reviews

Russian virtuoso percussionist Sergey Shamov combines scientific concert practice and art. He is the first Russian performer to present the cajon at the major Russian academic venues, and is still most known for his performances on that particular instrument. An ensemble member and orchestra soloist, Sergey has traveled across Europe and the rest of the world collaborating in music and theatre projects. He has been a member of the Osipov National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Russia since 2007. The musicians on this new release combine things that don’t normally mesh - meditative relaxation music with passionate tango, fast dance music and music for thought. These combinations make the tunes new and peculiar, taking the listener Read more on a truly unique journey. Read less
