Notes and Editorial Reviews
Obviously, most of the music on this disc consists of transcriptions, arranged in this case by Mr. Salles, for this unique and pleasing combination of instruments. Bernard Salles was born in 1954 and studied the double bass from the beginning of his musical career. As well, he studied the guitar, organ, composition and conducting. At the Versailles Conservatory he devoted all of his time to the study of the double bass. At the age of twenty-one, he qualified as a teacher on the double bass and has taught since 1977 at the Pau Conservatory where many students from southern France come to pursue their studies with him. He also has a well established concert career in France. I know that you do not need to be reminded that there is a large
