Konstantin Julius Becker

Biography

Born: February 3, 1811; Freiburg, Germany   Died: February 26, 1859; Oberlössnitz, Germany  
Becker studied singing with Anacker and composition with Karl Ferdinand Becker. From 1837-46 he was the editor of =Neue Zeitschrift für Musik.= He also taught music in Dresden and wrote novels concerning contemporary musical issues. His compositions include an opera, =Die Erstürmung von Belgrad= (1848), a symphony, a rhapsody and several songs and duets.
