Notes and Editorial Reviews

Cornelia Monske was born in 1963 in Hanover, Germany. At six she began playing the violin. Although she achieved great success with this instrument, she preferred the study of the percussion instruments. After her school examinations she began her studies with Siegfried Fink and Klaus Trebelt. She was honored in numerous German and international competitions and made several recordings with German broadcast companies. A special point of gravity in the work of Cornelia Monske is the Japanese percussion tradition. She studied with Keiko Abe in Germany and Japan at the Toho-Gakuen School of Music. For this recording she performs music by composers whom she knows personally. All of them gave her "tips" on how her performances should sound. Cornelia Monske was born in 1963 in Hanover, Germany.
