Biography

Born: April 29, 1847; Copenhagen, Denmark   Died: May 7, 1909; Copenhagen, Denmark  
Andersen learned the flute from his father, Christian J. Andersen. Karl Andersen played with The Copenhagen Royal Orchestra and later was a founder- member of The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. After his career as a flautist ended because of an illness of the tongue he returned to Copenhagen to conduct The Palace Orchestra.
