Masami Nakagawa is a Tokyo-born flutist who regularly crosses over between jazz and classical music, actively promoting and premiering contemporary classical works of Japanese composers as well as appearing with jazz artists such as Keith Jarrett and Lee Konitz. On MAGIC FLUTE TANGO Nakagawa employs several members of the flute family in a collection of lighter pieces, including some children's favorites such as "Sesame Street," the Muppet hit "Mah na mah na," as well as popular traditional tunes such as "Amazing Grace" and "Scarborough Fair."
