Joaquin Cassadó
Born: September 30, 1867; Mataró, Spain   Died: March 25, 1926; Barcelona, Spain  
Cassadó was the maestro de capilla of the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Merced in Barcelona, and the founder and conductor of the chorus at the Capilla Catalana. He composed for orchestra and chamber groups, sacred music and also a comic opera, =Lo monjo negre.= His son was the cellist Gaspar Cassandó.
