Notes and Editorial Reviews
Because of contractual conflicts, the original cast album for Irving Berlin's CALL ME MADAM, a Broadway smash starring Ethel Merman, was recorded on RCA with Dinah Shore replacing Merman in the lead role(!). Merman's label, Decca, produced its own version with a studio cast led by Merman, which is what is issued here.
