Notes and Editorial Reviews

“Though the musical languages are so different, parallels do emerge; the Schumann performances are enhanced by Enders and Hering's keen awareness of the importance of expressive nuance - and subtle changes of colour, microtonal inflections and dynamic contrasts are all important coponents of Isan Yun's style...All the performances are passionate and strongly committed. Enders has a splendidly clear, penetrating tone.” - Gramophone, [February 2013] “Though the musical languages are so different, parallels do emerge; the Schumann performances are enhanced by Enders and Hering's keen awareness of the importance of expressive nuance - and subtle changes of colour, microtonal inflections and dynamic contrasts are all important coponents of Isan Yun's style...All the performances are passionate and strongly committed.  Wonderful Collaboration April 18, 2013 By JAMES C. (SAN DIEGO, CA) See All My Reviews "I had the pleasure of hearing Isang Enders at the first Shostakovich Festival in Gohrisch, Germany. He was in my opinion the star of the three-day series of programs which also featured the other strings of the Staatskapelle Dresden in chamber groups. This is Enders' first recording. I had heard him perform only Shostakovich's works at the festival and this recording proved him to be broadly talented. Andreas Hering, a young pianist I had not heard before, contributed immensely to my enjoyment of the works on this CD. I look forward to more recordings by this pair, perhaps on DVD." Report Abuse
