Biography

Born: December 28, 1919   Country: Venezuela  
Carreño studied at the National School of Music and has served as professor of theory at the José Angel Lamas School for advanced music studies in Caracas. He has also worked as a hornist and choirmaster for the Venezuelan SO, which he also sometimes conducts. His best known works are the orchestral pieces =Suite margariteña= (1954) and =Sinfonieta satirica= (1965).
