The intensity of the instrument, captured in this recording, is an audiophile's dream and will test the quality of any system. Brass enthusiasts will loose their minds over this disc. The title of the CD, "Pilatus" refers to the mountain of dragons in Switzerland. Usually the horns are 3 or 5.4 meters long. In 1994 the Swiss craftsman Josef Stocker made the longest alphorn in the world - 47 meters.
