Notes and Editorial Reviews

Ingeborg Hallstein was one of the outstanding coloratura sopranos in the second half of the twentieth century. Born in Munich on May 23, 1936, Ingeborg Hallstein made her stage debut as Musetta in Giacomo Puccini's La Boh+me at the Passau Opera in 1957. She became the youngest singer to be honored with the title of Kammers+ngerin in Bavaria, and numerous other honors would follow. The recordings presented on these four CDs show Ingeborg Hallstein to have been an eminent operetta interpreter and substantiates her excellent reputation in the field.
