Great RecordingJanuary 31, 2015By Henry S. (Springfield, VA)See All My Reviews"For those who have not yet sampled the Royal Philharmonic Masterworks series, this wonderful disk could serve as an entry into a series distinguished by some of the most audiophile recordings one could ask for. Containing works by composers from south of the border (Mexican, Brazilian, Argentinian), the recording boils over with Latin American dynamism, color, and excitement. The works by Villa-Lobos and Ginastera are relatively well-known, but the shorter works by Gomes and Moncayo are absolute eye-openers in the most positive way. With Enrique Arturo Diemeke at the controls, the RPO plays with commitment and panache, and for my ears produces a sound that impresses as authentically Latin American, despite its English credentials. Sit back, relax, and enjoy. Highly recommended."Report Abuse
