Notes and Editorial Reviews

This new release, The Color Beneath, contains works by Norwegian composer Elisabeth Vatn (b. 1973). The pieces in the album are inspired by the places where humans greet and welcome the light. Containing sustained drones, contemplative sounds, and slow themes, the works on this album paint an intriguing picture using the sounds of the bagpipes, harmonium, fiddles, and old clarinets. Elisabeth Vatn began her musical career as a classically educated pianist. She also plays organ, harmonium, and Nordic bagpipes. She has been active across many genres, and has recorded several studio albums. This new release, The Color Beneath, contains works by Norwegian composer Elisabeth Vatn (b. 1973).
