David Behrman
Born: August 16, 1937; Salzburg, Austria  
David Behrman holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia and produced the Music of Our Time series for Columbia Records in 1960s. He is the co-founder of the Sonic Arts Union and toured with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in 1970s and 1990s. Biography by "Blue" Gene Tyranny
David Behrman holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia and produced the Music of Our Time series for Columbia Records in 1960s. He is the co-founder of the Sonic Arts Union and toured with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in 1970s and 1990s. Behrman served as co-director for the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College (1975 - 1980), taught at Ohio State University and C.A.L. Arts, and designed children's computer games at Children's Television Workshop. He toured under friendship grants from the Japan-United States Friendship Commission and the DAAD (Berlin). Many of his sound installations can be played by non-professionals at the Whitney Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Für Augen und Ohren (For Eye and Ear) in Berlin, DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA, and La Villette in Paris.
