Pure bliss February 17, 2016 By Charles Foster (Boston, MA) See All My Reviews "This music is not about the complexity and profundity of Bach at his best. It is early Baroque at its simplest, sweetest, and loveliest. This is music for kings and queens, late at night, to calm their tortured minds. And a big part of this is the sound: the theorbo--this one anyway, in the hands of Wilke--is by far the sweetest and most mellow of all the plucked instruments. For simple joy, this can't be beat."
