Released in order to celebrate the centenary of Olivier Messiaen's birth, this album is a comprehensive collection of Messiaen's Chamber works. Included is the first recording of the recently published work for violin and piano - Fantaisie. Includes informative booklet notes by Messiaen expert Nigel Simeone. Also included is a lovely letter about Le Merle Noir from one of the people who won the 1952 competition it was written for.
