Notes and Editorial Reviews

Emerging from the project Room for Fanny Hensel, the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna presents and promotes rare works by Fanny Hensel and the collaboration with her husband, Wilhelm Hensel. The composition of this album exemplifies that painting and poetry along with music were integral parts of the couple’s lives. Fanny, sister of Felix Mendelssohn, wrote her compositions on paper of varying colors, while her husband, on every composition, decorated the beginning with vignettes. This recording includes music students from four departments of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna.
