Capella Savaria is a Hungarian period-instrument chamber orchestra based in Szombathely, in Western Hungary near the Austrian border. The group takes its name from Savaria, the Roman name of Szombathely, which was founded as a Roman outpost in 45 CE. Founded in 1981 by Pál Németh, since 1999 the Capella Savaria has been led by violinist Zsolt Kalló. It has made more than 60 recordings, including several with conductor Nicholas McGegan.
