Buddy Collette Big Band in Concert
The Music of William 'Buddy' Collette
Buddy Collette's musicianship on saxophone and clarinet rivaled the best classical players. Collette's beautiful playing can be heard on Chico Hamilton's chamber music oriented Pacific Jazz releases in the 1950s. Collette was also associated with other jazz innovators including Dexter Gordon and Charles Mingus. Bridge presents the live 1996 Washington, D.C. concert by the Buddy Collette Big Band commissioned the Library of Congress.
